THESE ARE WORK SAMPLES OF MY STUDENTS TRYING TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS. AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER, MANY OF THEM UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF INTONATION, PITCH OF THE VOICE AND RHYTHM OF THE WORDS.

POR 1130: In this video, I am imitating the Portuguese accent while I'm speaking English. My goal is that students understand musicality in the target language.

SPN 1120: This is a sample of how students use chapters of our textbook to talk about certain grammar structures and vocabulary learned in class. This is for a face-to-face course.

SPN 1120: In this video, a student is using chapters one and two from our Spanish textbook to introduce himself.

POR 1131: This video is part of a series of video presentations students have to post in CANVAS for each chapter learned. The goal of making a video in Portuguese 2 is to become fluent by using Portuguese accents taught in class. This assignment is for a hybrid course.

POR 1131: This video is part of a series of video presentations students have to post in CANVAS for each chapter learned. Many students are afraid of using the target language in front of the class, so this method of practicing Portuguese allows students become confident with the target language. This assignment is for a hybrid course.

SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES

CANVAS, Chapter 2: This activity is very effective. It needs to be used in the classroom, "Gustar" & activities with "gustar," "estar" and activities (also a reminder of "ser" through a Shakira song)
POR 1130: A warm-up presentation. Learning O alfabeto, sounds & introduction to accent marks at the beginning of each class help students to understand the difference between intonation and musicality in a language.
